The Level 2 Engineering Transition programme is designed for learners who want to gain industry knowledge, and transferable study skills, in order to progress on to Level 3 qualifications including Access to Higher Education Diplomas in engineering-related subjects.
On this course you will experience a mix of theoretical study in the principles and practices of electronic engineering, and hands-on practical training at our well-equipped facilities. You will gain an understanding of the basics of electronic engineering; explore materials, methods, and processes; learn about industry standards and health and safety; and develop a range of technical and practical skills.
More than just increasing your industry-specific knowledge and skills, this course will also prepare you for further study at a higher level, by teaching you study skills and research techniques; information technology applications; improved English skills; and applying mathematics to scientific study.
What experience and skills will you gain?
You will study a mix of electronic engineering topics and general educational skills.

What do you need to apply?
- 2 GCSE qualifications at grades A*-D or 9-3, including English Language, maths and science
- Level 1 vocational qualification and a Level 1 English qualification
- Or proven industry experience

You will be assessed by a combination of practical assessments and coursework.
