What experience and skills will you gain?

Throughout this course, you will gain a broad understanding of different engineering fields, including mechanical engineering, manufacturing techniques, electronics, and essential engineering theory. You'll have the opportunity to work in our well-equipped workshops, using machine tools and marking out components. Additionally, you'll develop essential academic skills such as interpreting engineering information and applying mathematical principles to engineering problems.

  • What do you need to apply?

    To enroll in the Level 2 BTEC in Engineering, you'll need to have achieved a Grade 3 or above in Science, English Language and Maths GCSE (or equivalent Level 1 Functional Skills), along with four other GCSEs at Grade 3 or above.

  • How will you be assessed?

    The course features a combination of internal and external assessments. Most units are internally assessed, allowing you to receive regular feedback on your progress. However, there is also an externally assessed unit within the core curriculum. Successful completion of all assessments will lead to the achievement of a BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Engineering.

  • Where can this course take you?

    Upon successful completion of the Level 2 BTEC in Engineering, you'll have several exciting options ahead of you. You could progress to the Level 3 BTEC Diploma or Extended Diploma in Engineering, which would further prepare you for a career in the engineering sector or higher education. Alternatively, you may choose to pursue an apprenticeship, allowing you to earn while you continue learning on the job.
