I lead on university applications and personal statements; CV writing and interview skills. I coordinate various activities including tailored internship programs and training aimed at inspiring and motivating students to achieve their full potential and gain sustainable employment.

Fionnula Dainty

Careers & Employability Development Officer

My role at the college is based around ensuring that students develop their employability skills throughout the year, so that when they leave, they can progress into work, university or an apprenticeship. I help students develop their confidence in workshops, take them on trips to meet universities or to careers fairs, help with CVs, improve interview skills and support the students with their UCAS applications. I love helping students positively move into the next stage of their lives.

Collaborating to Develop London's Skilled Workforce

South Bank Colleges plays a pivotal role in its communities, forging strategic partnerships with key employers and engaging actively with local and regional boards. These collaborations drive policy and strategy changes to address regional skills and training requirements. To enhance curriculum alignment with these needs, South Bank Colleges aims to deepen employer involvement through its Advisory Boards. These boards empower industry leaders to influence the skills and training necessary for young people's success in various sectors and provide strategic insights for curriculum development.

Employers benefit from these partnerships by participating in curriculum design, recruiting apprentices, developing work-ready programs, sharing expertise through seminars and workshops, and supporting T-Level Industry Placements with available funding for incurred costs. Employers committed to supporting our students can find more information in the WEX Guidance for Employers booklet.
