Lambeth College, Clapham Campus
Our Learning Resource Centre, at Lambeth College, Clapham Campus, has a full range of relevant and well organised books as well as audio-visual resources. We also have individual, group and silent study zones that provide an environment for learning away from the classroom, and a Teams zone for remote online learning.
We provide a welcoming, supportive and safe environment with friendly and experienced staff who are knowledgeable about our services and always available to support students. Our staff help to develop research, information or IT skills, providing expert guidance and advice on how to find and use the information needed to complete coursework and progress into work, develop their careers or continue their education journey.
All students have access to a wide range of IT equipment including PCs with Microsoft Office and specialist software together with printers and scanners. There are also docking and power stations for students to use their own devices. All our campuses have wireless coverage and internet access is free to students.
Students can view the 24/7 Virtual Library which is available anywhere in the world via the internet. Our Virtual Library has a wide range of electronic resources, online databases and eBooks.
London South Bank Technical College, Nine Elms Campus
The London South Bank Technical College (LSBTC) features the innovative Digital Spine, a state-of-the-art facility designed to support your studies with modern digital resources and comfortable study spaces.
The Digital Spine Library, located on the 4th floor (Room A04.10), houses a comprehensive collection of books and electronic resources. For those seeking a peaceful environment for focused study, the quiet study room on the 2nd floor (Room A02.22) is ideal. Students can also make use of the desktop computer rooms on the 6th floor (Room A06.10) and 8th floor (Room A08.10), which are equipped with modern desktop computers. Various study areas are available throughout the facility, with headphones available to borrow for a day.
The Digital Spine team is dedicated to providing assistance with library information, finding books and resources, IT help, and study skills. Self-service machines are available to enable students to borrow, return, and manage their books independently. Multi-Function Devices (MFDs) are provided for printing, scanning, and photocopying. Lambeth College students receive £5 printing credit each term (September, January, and April). Additional print credit can be topped up at the Print Credit Kiosk machine.
Students can borrow up to 6 books at a time, with an initial loan period of 3 weeks. Books will be automatically renewed unless requested by another student. Headphones can be borrowed for a day and must be returned 15 minutes before closing time at 5 pm. Laptops are available for day use within the Digital Spine rooms and must be returned by 4 pm.

South Bank University Hub, Elephant and Castle
South Bank Colleges students also have the opportunity to access the extensive library facilities at South Bank University's award-winning Hub at the Elephant and Castle campus. Through this exciting partnership, eligible students aged 18 and over can enhance their learning experience with a broader range of resources.
Eligible students can borrow up to 20 books from the university library and utilise visitor Wi-Fi and printing facilities. To take advantage of this opportunity, students will need to obtain a South Bank University ID card. The process is simple: prepare a passport-sized photo against a plain white background and upload it when completing the application form. Friendly staff at the Learning Resources Centre (LRC) on the Clapham Campus, as well as on floors 4, 6, and 8 of the Nine Elms campus's Digital Spine, are available to assist with any questions and guide students through the application process.
The South Bank University Hub, which opened in 2022, is a vibrant centre of student life, acclaimed for its innovative and sustainable design. The Hub features an array of amenities, including cutting-edge library resources, cosy nooks for quiet study, a top-notch gym, computer rooms, group study spaces, and improved dining options.
Students can relax in the main atrium, enjoy a snack in the food court, or take in the views from the roof terrace. The Hub is designed to enhance the overall student experience, providing a welcoming community where students can study, socialise, and stay active.
