The event, organised by Career Ready, included a visit to Microsoft where the students enjoyed a masterclass about LinkedIn and networking and had a tour of the flagship store. The event marks the start of this year’s Career Ready programme at Lambeth College. Career Ready prepares young people for the world of work by delivering a programme of mentoring, masterclasses, workplace visits and internships.
Lambeth College has been working with Career Ready for 11 years to help our students gain the skills, confidence and experience they need to succeed in their future careers. Speaking of their experience in London, Ryan Gregoire from the Faculty of Creative and Digital Industries and Nasheeka Rainford from the Faculty for Science, Built Environment and Manufacturing said: ‘It was an enjoyable experience because it was a great chance to find out about Microsoft and how the business operates.’
‘It was an amazing and worthwhile event as I felt that I learnt many things to do with my personal abilities and skills. As well as having a great opportunity to communicate with Microsoft staff, I found out some useful tips for job applications.’
We are committed to giving our students the best opportunities possible and Career Ready is a fantastic way to inspire young people to consider careers they may never have dreamt of previously. The trip is always a highlight for them and it’s great to hear how much they enjoyed it again this year.
