On the 23rd March, the Lambeth College Men’s Football Team played against Croydon College in an AOC League Championship game at Barn Elms.
The game was played in warm sunshine and we started the game on the front foot, scoring the first goal after ten minutes, a thunderous volley from the edge of the box. After 30 minutes, the referee awarded a penalty against us due to grappling in the penalty area. They scored to make it 1-1. We were then awarded a penalty five minutes later, which we missed before scoring two minutes later from a free kick. Both teams had chances to score but we held on for a deserved win.
The players showed the right attitude over the past few games and this result is testament to their fortitude and commitment.
Player of the Match – Mayo Otufale – who made numerous great saves during the game.
